BIOGRAPHY

Charlie Calder-PottsCharlie Calder-Potts is a self-taught painter living and working in London. She grew up in the Cotswolds and in 2004 left to embark on a four year degree at the University of St Andrews where she graduated with an MA in Art History. Her degree has given her an insight into a wide range of artistic genres from which she draws her influences, the strongest being contemporary artist Hughie O’Donoghue.

Her unconventional mixed media work is inspired by the concept of displacement and the isolation of the individual. Using both the city and country as her foundation, Charlie’s pieces transform commonplace surroundings into barren, dreamlike environments. The result is a collection of works that are both haunting and ethereal. Charlie is currently represented by the Fosse Gallery, Stow-on-the-Wold and Fine Art Commissions Ltd, Bury Street, St James, London.
